Tag-outs (not to be confused with a game called freeze tag) are a tool whereby, during a scene, a player off stage might identify an opportunity to go backwards or forwards in time or to show the perspective of a mentioned character. The player does this by entering the scene and tagging out a current player (tapping on the shoulder).

You should only do this if you think it will enhance the scene. The person who is tagged out needs to return to the scene, by tagging back in (tapping the shoulder of the person who tagged them out). Remember not to leave to person who tagged you out on the stage - watch closely for the moment to return.
